About the Item

Antique Swedish mora clock from the early 1800s in Folk Art faux wood finish and simple detailing with a countryshape body and a roman numeral face in good condition. Measures: 205 cm. It has the classic extended belly of a traditional Swedish mora clock with detail on the body section and detailed pedestal carving. The clock body has the usual wood movement and distressing found in clocks of this age. the clock is sold 'as is' : as a decorative piece only with the original mechanism and pendulum but not guaranteed to be in working order - If you want it working we can fit a professional hi torque battery mechanism for time keeping ( +£295) or you can have a great sounding chiming mech which replays the recorded chime through a small speaker with a volume control and 8 hour night off switch (+£395) These don’t come about often so here is your chance to get a really special mora clock. please note - wood is a live substance and may change shape when it moves to a new environment with a different median temperature and humidity after shipping. This may cause splits to occur in panels after the clock has grown accustomed to its new home We require 18-21 days prep time prior to shipping on this item

    Repaired: probably some small repair during its life. Wear consistent with age and use. Minor losses. Minor structural damages. Minor fading. The clock has some paint distressing and it is structurally sound with the usual wood movement for a piece of its age. It has some slight cracking /lifting in the face enamel and may exhibit some paint lifting in places. It will be lightly restored.
