About the Item

Antique Swedish mora clock from the 1800s in rare faux wood grain folk art finish finish and a superb detailed roman numeral face in good condition. Measures: 217 cm. The clock is likely to be earlier 1800s and it seems to have been redone in the faux wood grain paint in 1893 as evidenced n the inside of the pendulum door. Most unusual. It has the Classic extended belly of a traditional Swedish mora clock with a very narrow waist with swags and scrolls and detailed pedestal carving. The clock body has the usual wood movement and distressing found in clocks of this age. the clock is sold 'as is' : as a decorative piece only with the original mechanism and pendulum but not guaranteed to be in working order - If you want it working we can fit a professional hi torque battery mechanism for time keeping ( +£295) or you can have a great sounding chiming mech which replays the recorded chime through a small speaker with a volume control and 8 hour night off switch (+£395) These don’t come about often so here is your chance to get a really special mora clock. 18-21 day prep prep time on this item prior to shipping

    Repaired: probably some small repair during its life. Wear consistent with age and use. Minor losses. Minor structural damages. Minor fading. The clock has some paint distressing and it is structurally sound with the usual wood movement for a piece of its age. It has some slight cracking /lifting in the face enamel and may exhibit some paint lifting in places. It will be lightly restored.
