About the Item

Decorative early 1800s antique Swedish mora clock in white paint finish detail and a slender body. Measures: 214cm. This original 1800s mora clock has a nice face with some enamel missing/lifting. The clock body is distressed as befits its age and has the usual wood movement found in clocks of this age. the clock is sold 'as is' : as a decorative piece only with the original mechanism and pendulum but not guaranteed to be in working order - If you want it working we can fit a professional hi torque battery mechanism for time keeping ( +£295) or you can have a great sounding chiming mech which replays the recorded chime through a small speaker with a volume control and 8 hour night off switch (+£395) The mech change/shipping prep time takes approximate 18-21 days.     please note - wood is a live substance and may change shape when it moves to a new environment with a different median temperature and humidity after shipping. This may cause splits to occur in panels after the clock has grown accustomed to its new home

    Repaired: this clock has probably been repaired and the paint retouched at some point in its long life as is common with clocks of this age - it has some missing enamel on the facing and some enamel lifting present. Wear consistent with age and use. Minor losses. Minor structural damages. Minor fading. Clock is structurally sound and features the typical paint distressing and wood movement common to this age of mora clock. it will be checked over by our restorer prior to shipping for stability.
