About the Item

Elegant French mantel clock dating from the mid-19th century, finely crafted in chased and gilt bronze in the Louis XV style. The richly sculpted case is surmounted by a reclining female figure, resting on a naturalistic base decorated with flowers and foliage. The façade is adorned with two enamel panels painted with charming scenes of putti, set against a deep blue ground with delicate gilt borders, adding refined color contrast to the warm gilt bronze. The white enamel dial with Roman numerals is signed Boyer, Rue de Saintonge 64, Paris.
