About the Item

A fabulous 19th Century gilt bronze mantle clock garniture set of exceptional quality comprising of a clock with a stunning pair of matching three branch candelabra, all are profusely decorated with elaborately detailed foliate, berry and flowerhead motifs throughout. The finely cast gilt bronze clock in the Rocaille manner is surmounted with moulded platform pediment with lattice work detail supporting an exquisite pierced crest composition of richly scrolling foliate, acanthus leaves, ruffles, berries and c-scrolls. The gorgeous ceramic dial of circular form is housed within a moulded gilt bronze and glass case and features both roman and decimal numerals in black against white ground above an arrangement of Neoclassical motifs comprising of a quiver of arrows, flaming torch, ribbon and musical instruments. Supported on pierced out-splayed base richly decorated with ruffles, scrolls, foliate, berry and flowerhead motif detail.
