About the Item

An exquisite French 19th century Louis XVI st. white Carrara marble and ormolu clock. The clock is raised by ormolu topie shaped supports below a marble base with ormolu scrolling foliage and ormolu beaded row. Above is the central fluted marble column with ormolu chandelles, flanked by an ormolu young soldier and cupid. The Arabic numeral enamel dial has ormolu branches tied at the bottom. At the top are finely chased lovebirds. All original gilt.
