About the Item

Antique French Louis XV Style Cast Bronze Ormolu Figural Cherub / Putto "Sciences Celestial" Mantel Clock in Rare Silver Gilt. Item features clock movement signed "Mon Franjus Raison Boyer Sucrs." Stunning cast and details of seated putto and celestial globe. Putto is seen studying and another example of this figural casting included a scroll and pen in hand. It is unconfirmed whether this piece originally had said scroll and pen, but they are no longer included if so. This is a remarkable example of fine French craftsmanship in a very rare silver gilt finish. Circa 19th Century. Measurements: 11.5" H x 11.5" W x 5" D.
