Silver Hallmarked Mantel Clock. Silver mantel clock housed in a hallmarked waisted case with engine turning, convex glass and floral decoration to the front. The side, base and back door hallmarked for Birmingham 1905 and D Co ( Douglas Clock Company) Enamel dial with Roman numerals and original ‘blued’ steel hands. Eight day French movement with platform escapement. C.1905 Watchmakers and clockmakers of the world by Brian Loomes lists the Douglas Clock Company as working in Birmingham from 1896.
