About the Item

For your consideration is this very attractive and unusual Art Deco Buren 15 jewelled desk clock with barometer and thermometer, set or mounted on a white Onyx base and decorated with a blue agate of unknown type. This is a very good and clean, fully functional internal atmospheric desktop station. It incorporates a Buren 15 jewelled pocket watch/travel clock movement produced the 1920's and 1930’s and used in automotive clock movements too. The movement has been fully restored having been disassembled, cleaned, adjusted and reassembled back into working condition and then remounted back into the case. The barometer has been checked for pressure and works well. The barometer face is in very clean condition and both the hands/indicator pointers are clean without corrosion, the glass mounted one also moves freely. The thermometer is of a mercury type, so great care when cleaning the item, it is mounted on a silvered brass plate with the temperature numerals etched and blackened to stand out clearly. It is of the Fahrenheit scale. The case is in very good condition and clean, a green felt has been installed on the base to protect delicate surfaces. This is a very good example of an Art Deco decorative item and would good in any modern or vintage home and a great addition to any collection.
