About the Item
A most unusual and quite beautiful, large silver gilt and florally decorated French grey/blue guilloche enamel box clock. The circular box with engine turned silver gilt base with bands of silver and white enamel with a wide floral guilloche enamel band to the base. The upper part of the box with a band of lilac guilloche enamel with the top decorated with French blue floral guilloche enamel and centered by an 8-day clock with white enamel dial. The quality of this piece is extraordinary, not only is the box silver gilt but also the bezel and most unusually, the backplate holding the movement which in turn is beautifully gilded. The box is French as is the fine 13 jewel clock with 3 adjustments.

This exceptional antique Swiss silver miniature boudoir clock has a plain rectangular form.
The surface of this impressive antique clock is embellished with impressive pink guilloche enamel panels, framed with plain broad sterling silver borders.
The upper portion of the enamel clock is fitted with an angular carrying handle.
The enamel dial of the clock is ornamented with black hour numerals, encircled with plain black chapter ring of minute markers and fitted with shaped pink hands.
The face of this timepiece is visible through a circular glass 'window' with a plain applied silver border.
The hinged door and opens to reveal the original movement.
The clock movement is fitted with an incorporated hinged winding key, featuring a shaped handle with a lobed fingerpiece.
