OVAL SHAPE TABLE CLOCK WITH BRASS BRACKET
From our European Ceramics collection, we are delighted to offer this Sevres Style Porcelain Table Clock.
The clock is crafted in an oval porcelain plaque mounted in crisp cast ormolu. The bleu céleste ground is enriched with gilded floral swags and a central hand-painted romantic scene depicting a maiden playing the flute beside cupid. The scene is bordered by a gilt frame set with enamelled jewels in white and red. Above sits the painted dial with black Roman numerals, floral motifs and an ormolu bezel. The clock houses an eight-day pocket watch movement concealed within the ormolu frame.
The Sevres Style Porcelain Table Clock dates to the Belle Époque period, circa 1880.
