Victorian Walnut Bracket Clock by Barraud
Lund, Cornhill, London
Victorian bracket clock housed in a finely figured walnut case with stepped pediment surmounted by ribbed brass decoration. Raised moulded plinth reasting on brass ribbed bracket feet, glazed side viewing panels and back door.
Cast brass bezel opening to the silvered dial with Roman numerals and ‘blued’ steel hands signed ‘Barraud

Eight day double chain Fusee movement of fine quality with substantial brass plates and anchor escapement, striking the hours on a coiled gong. The backplate also signed ‘Barraud

The company of Barraud
Lund was established in 1795 by Paul Phillip Barraud. When Richard Lund joined as partner in 1838 the company became known as Barraud
Lund.
Barraud
Lund were highly regarded London makers and were celebrated for their high quality chronometers, regulators, pocket watches and clocks. The company ceased trading in 1929.

Lund as working from Bishopsgate within Cornhill c.1839-63.
