About the Item

Bring color and character to a kitchen, hallway, or study with this elegant antique wall clock, crafted in France circa 1880. Shaped in a graceful oval silhouette, the clock features a glossy ebony-painted frame surrounding a richly decorated facade. Beneath the glass cover, intricate polychrome motifs in vibrant green, red, and gold enliven the surface around the porcelain and enamel dial. The clock face is fitted with raised Roman numeral cartouches and finely pierced hands, and is signed “Jean Combe à Champdieu,” referencing the 19th-century maker from the Loire region. Recently serviced and cleaned by our professional clock specialist, the mechanism runs beautifully and keeps excellent time. The piece is in superb condition commensurate with age and use, retaining a deep patinated sheen and wonderful decorative presence. Pendulum and key included.. Measure: 18.5" W x 23" H.
