About the Item

A beautiful antique French Rococo cartel wall clock, the movement by Vincenti et Cie and retailed in Paris, circa 1870. Beautifully modelled asymmetric case of 'C' scrolls, profusely decorated with garlands of flowers. A glimpse of the pendulum can be seen swinging through the scrolls and flowers. The large dial is porcelain enamel on copper with blued steel hands and convex glass. The French movement is of high quality and is by Vincenti. It is in excellent clean and running condition having been fully overhauled by our clockmaker. Pendulum is an old replacement. It runs for 8 days and strikes the hours and halves on a bell. We have a video of the clock, please ask and we wills send you a link. Condition of the case is excellent, the original gilding is beautifully clean and bright with hardly any wear or discolouration. There is a slight loss to the case behind the bezel around the eleven o'clock position. The dial is also excellent with just some slight chipping around the brocot shaft above the twelve o'clock. There is no cover over the rear of the movement, however the clock sits against the wall. Vincenti clockmaker's mark on the movement back plate along with the Paris retailer Complete with pendulum, bell and a suitable key. Full setting up instructions supplied if required. Condition:
Repaired: Fully overhauled and tested. Wear consistent with age and use. Gilding is clean and bright. There is a slight loss to the case behind the bezel around the eleven o clock position. The dial is also excellent with just some slight chipping around the brocot shaft above the twelve o clock. There is no rear cover.
