About the Item
This rare Imbroglio perpetual wall calendar was designed by Jean-Pierre Vitrac and produced in France between the late 1960s and early 1970s. It exemplifies the abstract and conceptual graphic research developed in Europe during this period, where functionality and visual experimentation were closely intertwined.
The calendar features a painted metal front with a bold black-and-white graphic composition. A magnetic date marker allows the current day to be indicated, introducing a subtle sense of movement and interaction. The piece is framed in black-painted wood and finished with a pressed-board back.
An inscription reading “Wettig gedeponeerd / IN-LINE®” appears on the front, indicating a legally registered model associated with the graphic system and its distribution. Both essential and visually striking, Imbroglio stands today as a highly collectible example of late modernist graphic design, suitable for refined interiors, private collections, or design-focused spaces.
In very good vintage condition, with minor signs of age on the structure and frame, consistent with its period.
