A late 19th century german Art Nouveau inkwell that exemplifies the refined yet innovative Jugendstil style. Crafted from exquisitely cut crystal glass, the angular body culminates in a gently curving well, providing a resting spot for a dip pen. The geometric star motif etched under the base reflects Jugendstil's embrace of stylized floral and graphic designs. Capped by a domed 800 silver lid bearing german silver marks, a crescent moon and crown, the monochromatic palette allows the exceptional clarity of the crystal and expert wheel engraving to take center stage.
