About the Item

Very cute set of two 19th century Black Forest, Schwarzwald, Forêt Noir carved walnut dog and cat heads with glass eyes and ink well with log pen rest. Intricate carved detail to hair, teeth, eyes and paws. The cat has green glass eyes, has painted stripes and the log is painted darker. The inkwell insert is made out of brass The is carved very detailed. He has bone ears, teeth, nose and nails. I have never seen this before. He has no inkwell insert.
