About the Item

Antique Limoges porcelain inkwell, France late 19th century. A depiction to preserve medications, manufactured under the brand Docteur Bengué. On the bottom is a stamp "Pyrol". On the inkwell is written "Chlorethyle Baume Dragées au Mentol". Docteur Bengué was a Parisian Pharmacist in the late 19th century. This exemplar is listed in the specialized literature "Encriers Ecritoires, Outils et objets d'art - François Podevin-Bauduin, page 163".
