About the Item
A wonderful and impressive figural inkwell made from solid cast English brass, beautifully executed with a fabulous patina.
Standing on little cast feet, the large leaf is of course a pen tray to rest one's pen. The novelty inkwell is cast in the form of a Parrot retaining two little glass eyes. The hinged lid opens to reveal a removable glass ink liner.
A magnificent desk-top accessory dating to the Victorian era, circa 1890. 12 1/2" in length x 4" x 5" tall.
