This completely original inkstand dates from the late 19th century and it has a large number of striking Roman emperial style elements. To find such a rare antique in museum worthy condition, again, felt like a blessing. The Roman decorations such as the chariot on the front and the architect on the lid are among the most crisp and detailed we have ever seen. The combination of the crystal glass and perfectly patinated bronze is truly magnificent and it takes a special kind of craftsman to create such a work of beauty.
