About the Item
Antique 20th Century English solid silver letter opener. This letter opener features some quirky additions, including a built-in paper clip and an engraved ruler along the side. It has a tapered shape that ends in a fine, rounded point. On the front of the paper clip is an engraved figure accompanied by the motto "Make All Sure", the heraldic motto of the Howard family, specifically the Dukes of Norfolk, one of England’s most prominent noble houses.
Hallmarked English solid silver (925 Standard), Birmingham, year 1918 (t), Maker AEJ (Albert Edward Jones).
