About the Item
An excellent Art Nouveau bronze paper knife page turner, depicting a female bust, and terminating in a blunt tapering point. Alexandre Caron (French, 1857-1932) signed 'A Caron',
Left in its original patina, there are a few light signs of age as expected.
Caron's works, most of which are mythological or symbolic and small in size, were made up of various precious materials including silver, gold and bronze. Many were produced in the Sèvres factory.
Caron exhibited from 1894 at the Salon des Artistes Francais, showing many noteworthy statuettes, and winning commendations including an Honourable mention in 1901.
