About the Item

A Chinese carved bamboo and hardwood brush pot. This large boldly carved Chinese brush pot is made from bamboo with a hardwood rim and foot. It is carved with good detail with a continuous scene of a large group of figures gathered together either seated or standing amongst a rock landscape with trees and mountains. This piece is in good condition with a good patination and colour. Chinese Republican period, circa 1920 Dimensions: W 14 cm (5.5") x D 14 cm (5.5") x H 17.5 cm (6.9").

A Small Late 19th Century Chinese Carved Hardwood Brush Pot This stylishly restrained hexagonal shaped Chinese brush pot is made from dense red hardwood and the eight flat sides are delicately hand carved with a continuous mountain landscape included in which there is a bridge, trees, tall rock faces, a lake, and a temple amongst other details.
