A beautifully timeworn 18th-century French Provincial finial, crafted in Southern France circa 1790. This sculptural architectural element features a striking turned walnut top in the form of an oversized acorn, richly patinated and full of aged character, sitting atop a classical turned brass base. The wood exhibits a deep, warm tone, with dramatic cracking and wear that only centuries can impart, contributing to its authentic antique charm. Originally used as a decorative finial, possibly for a newel post or garden element, this piece now makes a sculptural statement on its own, whether styled on a shelf, console, or pedestal.
