About the Item
Beautiful vintage Murano hand blown frothy bubbles, over black core and gold flecks Italian art glass cat sculpture. The piece is attributed to designer Alfredo Barbini, circa 1950s. The cat is created in the “Pulegoso” technique, where thousands of tiny bubbles are used as the main body. The kitty figure stands on a round jet black base. The sculpture has an elegant shape, with black eyes, nose and mouth accents on his face. There is also a nice scarf / bow around its neck, in black and filled with gold leaf. Would make a great display piece on any desk, vanity or curio cabinet. You will be able to showcase it as a decorative piece in any room. Mid-century era. Measures: 5 3/4" tall x 4” long x 2 1/2” wide.
