CHICHOIMAO
CHICHOIMAO is a Hong Kong-based woodworking studio founded in 2019. Its name, derived from the Cantonese phrase 自在貓, translates to "Cat at Ease." This philosophy defines the studio’s mission: to craft wooden pieces that bring the calm, harmonious serenity of a well-rested cat into the modern home.
Co-founded by one human and two feline companions—Kin Kin and Ar Mei—the studio’s collections reflect their distinct personalities: Kin_: Crafted from beech, oak, and ash, featuring light, natural tones. Mei_: Crafted from black walnut, offering a sophisticated, warm aesthetic. Specializing in small-batch furniture and home goods, CHICHOIMAO utilizes traditional joinery and solid wood to ensure every piece is both durable and elegant. Since its debut, the studio has gained international recognition, including a Highly Commended honor at the 2025 Wood Review Maker of the Year Awards and showcasing at major design fairs in London, Osaka, Taipei, and Chiang Mai.
