About the Item

Exceptional picture frame with beautifully crafted angels on each side, France circa 1880. Picture size: 3 cm x 5 cm. In the salons of the wealthy bourgeoisie and aristocracy, such frames were a sign of taste and social status. They were carefully selected to emphasize the beauty and value of the photographs presented in them. Brass frames are distinguished by their characteristic golden color, which intensifies over time through the formation of a natural patina. They tell stories of times gone by and lend the works of art on display a special aura.
