About the Item
Deliziosa cornice portafoto di forma circolare in silverplate, della Argenteria Storica A. Fornari di Roma. Nel 1896 Alberto Fornari diede inizio alla sua attività a Roma in Campo de' Fiori, guadagnandosi il soprannome di "massiccio" per gli oggetti "d'argent massif" che commerciava. Inizia così la storia degli argentieri di Roma.
Nel 1905 Alberto decise di aprire il suo primo negozio in via della Scrofa 49. Gli affari prosperavano e il negozio, ormai famoso, fu trasferito in via del Gambero 27 angolo via Frattina. In pochi anni i Fornari giunsero a farsi produrre 30.000 Kg. di articoli d'argento e trasformarono il negozio in una ditta specializzata in articoli da regalo e complementi d'arredo per la casa e per la cucina.
