About the Item
Set of four Antique Gilt Frames of oval shape with ferine feet and a shell-shaped cymatium and two median decorations consisting of the interlacing of the outline of the outer frame forming an original geometric pattern. A beautiful gouache gilding in pure gold leaf that allows glimpses in several parts of the Armenian red bole preparation giving the frames a warm effect. In good state of conservation. Inside, protected by glass, these Charles X photo frames display four posthumous prints. By virtue of their type, the four frames can both be hung and lend themselves to use as tabletop portrait holders with a little modification. Dating from the first half of the 1800s, good state of preservation, they come from northern Italy.
The set consists of four portrait frames, are not available for purchase individually.
