About the Item

An exuberant Continental well-executed Baroque carved wood picture frame , probably Italian. The paint appears to cover a formerly gilded frame. The back retains an old label in script, probably in Italian. Some gilding shows through at the bosses on all four corners and in various other area. This is a finely crafted substantial piece in overall attractive condition. Circa 1750.
