We are pleased to offer for sale an elegant Italian tabletop picture frame from the 1970s.
Still featuring its original adhesive label, this vintage piece is part of a collection of home accessories designed—or at least produced—by Alberto Sordi, one of the most iconic figures in mid-20th-century Italian cinema.
The frame features a distinctive and uncommon square format. Its bold, curved outer frame measures 25 cm x 25 cm (approximately 9.8" x 9.8"), with an inner photo opening of 11 cm x 11 cm (approximately 4.3" x 4.3").
Crafted from a plastic material that very convincingly mimics mother-of-pearl, the piece is accented with gold-toned brass details, creating a striking and glamorous contrast.
A clear lucite stand with brass accents adds a refined and functional finish, making this a stylish and sophisticated object that perfectly captures the essence of 1970s Italian luxury design—a style championed by names such as Gabriella Crespi, Tommaso Barbi, Romeo Rega, and Sandro Petti.
