19th Century Italian Two-Tone Wood Frame, crafted with elegant combination of Ebonized Ripple Finish and Faux Tortoise detailing that highlights its refined architectural form. The frame's deep profile and layer molding create an ideal choice for artwork, mirrors, or as a sculptural standalone decorative object. On reverse side is a maker's label, "Pietro Greppi, Bergamo, Via S. All' Inglese, Fabbrica Astucci". This identifies the frame as a work of a respected Italian workshop, specializing in traditional English-style mountings (Montatura all' inglese) and finely crafted frames (fabbica astucci). Greppi's workshop was known for blending classical woodworking traditions with modern mid-century aesthetic refinement.
