About the Item
A solid, heavy, top-notch photograph frame made from sterling silver with a solid Oak backing. This Art Deco example has an all over hammered / planished decoration, as stylish today as it was 90 years ago.
The bottom of the frame has a rectangular vacant cartouche. The silver is fully marked for the Watrous Manufacturing Co. of Connecticut, USA.
Dating to c.1930 it remains in superb condition. An impressive size measuring 12" tall x 10" wide x 1 1/2" thick; the glazed aperture measuring 9" x 7".
