About the Item
We offer for sale a vintage round brass easel picture frame made in Italy circa 1970s, perfect for holding close-up portrait photographs.
The gilded brass surface is not flat, but like 18th century French frames containing painted miniatures, it has a groove in the center, a pleasing curve that further highlights the contents of the frame.
The back of the frame is veneered in mahogany, and its large easel makes it stable and solid.
As a great lover of family photos displayed at home, I find it perfect for mixing with many other frames of various textures and materials on a console table or chest of drawers in the bedroom.
The surface of the frame has been cleaned but left in patina, it shows minimal signs of use and time that we have highlighted in the photos.
