About the Item

Mid-late 18th century silk stumpwork picture, English. A fine Georgian period piece featuring a shepherd shepherdess under a tree with a house in the background. Oval gilt beaded border frame. The scene employs multiple techniques materials including felt, silk, wood watercolored faces. Silk embroidery stumpwork are artfully employed. He even has marquesite buttons on his vest. Not examined out of the frame. Panel: 14" x 11.25". Frame: 18" x 14 5/8".
