An early 19th century Italian Grand Tour style bronze stylised dolphin oil lamp after the antique, circa 1830.
Once a functional collectible obtained by a 19th century Grand Tour explorer, this antique Aragon type oil lamp is today an interesting decorative object for those with a neoclassical curiosity.
The design sees a stylised dolphin or fish with a spout protruding from its mouth below a fluted lidded urn with ornate handle, the bronze oxidised throughout giving it an attractive patina.
