Biography of the artist: This French sculptor, born in Paris in 1908, pupil of Jean Boucher and Maillol, developed a very young interest in sculpture and embarked early on in his vocation. He will have an activity of Professor at the School of Applied Arts and Member of the jury of the School of Fine Arts. He made models of medals for Erik Satie and Charles Dullin at the Hôtel de la Monnaie, bas-reliefs but also more artistic compositions, which he presented at the Salon de la Jeune Sculpture from 1945 until the beginning of the 1970s. He is noted for his modern lines, on the borders of figuration, surrealism and abstraction. He achieves a great stripping of forms, inspired by both Laurens and Brancusi. The representation of the human, around themes such as women, couples, motherhood, remains her favorite theme. But he also sculpted a few animals, such as his "Bird of Fire", a bronze proof of which is kept at the Musée d'Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris.
