This rare and captivating piece of early 20th-century design, this antique crystal and metal-wrapped palm tree exudes the timeless sophistication synonymous with Maison Baguès, a master of French decorative arts. Dating to the 1920s, this luxurious creation features a finely crafted wooden trunk, meticulously wrapped in textured Metal or fabric string to mimic the natural grain and details of a real palm tree. The base is wrapped in metal and mimics the ground of which a palm tree sits on.
The tree's crown (top) is adorned with shimmering faceted crystal fronds, delicately arranged to catch and reflect light in a dazzling display. This exquisite combination of organic inspiration and opulent materials epitomizes the Art Deco aesthetic, blending bold, sculptural elements with a touch of natural elegance.
Perfect as a statement piece in any sophisticated interior, this palm tree sculpture captures the grandeur and innovation of the era while embodying the exceptional quality and craftsmanship attributed to Maison Baguès. Although this piece is NOT signed its quality level and attention to detail closely resembles the work of Baguès. The palm tree is in good antique condition with the exception of a few broken crystal petals a few layers deep in the top which is not noticeable at all as well as a few small crystal petals missing on one trunk which is also not noticeable unless deeply inspected (This is very common for antique pieces like this). Otherwise good condition considering age and use.
