Biographical Information
Born in 1951 in Marseille, Christine Fabre studied at the École des Beaux-Arts in Luminy-Marseille. In Aubagne, she learned pottery throwing in a factory for a year. She then established her own studio in Cassis in 1978, where she created ceramic furniture, including armchairs, chests, and decorative pieces.
In 1984, she moved to Pont-de-Barret in the Drôme region, where she developed a sculptural and figurative ceramic style based on rapid firing. In 1990, she settled in Marsanne. In 2001, she created A Ship for Telemachus, an installation composed of forty oars placed against the fountain in the Place Saint-Sulpice in Paris.
Since 1980, numerous solo exhibitions have been dedicated to him in France and internationally: Belgium, Netherlands (Galerie Deventer), Switzerland (Galerie Marianne Brand, Geneva; Galerie Le Vieux Bourg, Lonay; Atelier-Galerie J.J. Hofstetter, Fribourg), China (Liuli China Museum, Shanghai, 2015), Taiwan (Liuli Gong Fang Museum, 2016).
