About the Item

'Blue, Aqua Green Cliff' is a unique cast glass sculpture by the British artist, Crispian Heath. Crispian Heath's work is predominantly inspired by landscape and his love for exploring the rugged cliffs and other geological sites which are unique to Britain. It is there he is able to connect with the play of light on the natural world around him. His creative process begins with being faced with the elements and the history of the land - the apparent as well as the unseen forces at work - and his intuitive feel for a place interacting with his imagination. Exploiting the properties of transparency, refraction and reflection to create an inner world within an outer form, Heath’s resulting sculptures, like their sources of inspiration, are all about how light interacts with the physical. His process of making from the initial concept to the final realisation, also allows for the unexpected to take place. This adds an exciting aspect to his creative practice and often leads to new discoveries that inform and ensure, that his work continues to evolve. Each of Crispian Heath’s artworks are unique, with many held in private collections in the UK and USA.

Poseidon, a Metallic Blue, Petrol Teal Green Glass Sculpture by Bethany Wood
By Bethany Wood
Located in London, GB
'Poseidon' is a unique artwork by the British artist, Bethany Wood. An equal passion for painting physically inspires how she controls and manipulates her glass. Recreating the fleeting nature of brush strokes, Wood’s molten colours traverse across the surface of her glass canvases blending in a myriad of hues. Unlike their flat painterly counterparts, these combine and merge, forming spontaneous watery and lava like abstract relief flourishes. Taking inspiration from a wide range of sources, Wood’s influences are taken directly from the world around us, elements of the inner-city sit alongside expansive landscapes. Reoccurring themes are Graffiti & Urban Culture, exploration & travel. In the artist's own words; "As a multidisciplinary artist, I have begun to merge my two artistic passions, painting and Glassmaking. I like to express myself with the fluidity of the material. The Directional arrangement of a colour palette can form the depth of an abstract Landscape. I use my own paintings as a reference whilst making in the hot shop. Each individual artwork from my series has been inspired by a specific place. Serendipity of abstraction has always been an inspiration for me; the coincidental elements which catch the eye of the viewer. The palette, composition and depth I have attained are taken from nature, with a bold but elegant swipe of my own personal, Expressionist style" Rising glass star, Wood graduated from De Montfort...

Wave Lounge by Eduard Locota. Turquoise-Blue Acrylic Glass Sculptural Design
By Eduard Locota
Located in Timisoara, RO
Once upon a time, in the middle of the Ocean, on a very still day, while the sun was shining, a wave has appeared. Why did the wave appear exactly at that place and time? Nobody knows. What we know for centuries, is that the Ocean is never still, and always has waves at the horizon. We know that a wave is only energy. Energy transmitted through particles of water, causing it to swirl into an endless circular motion. And if not obstructed, waves have the potential to travel across an entire ocean basin. The story of the Wave Lounge was born once upon a time, while gazing at the never-ending blue horizon. Inspired by the vast energy of the wind and sea strongly colliding together, the idea of this monolithic functional sculpture was thus born. The concept As a piece of the Ocean, a strong presence of mass was needed in the style of Wave Lounge. The twist of a wave near braking point, encapsulated in time, that will completely charm the viewer’s eyes. With a total neglect for traditional design, this fully functional design piece will undoubtedly generate emotions. Be prepared to take a large slice of wave right into your home. Build process Build fully by hand, with acrylic glass as a primary material. For each piece, literally over 200 Kg of material was used for this monolithic functional artwork. it is necessary to pour over 60 colored layers of liquid acrylic...
