About the Item
A perfect bright orange glaze draws attention to the form of this piece. Strong, yet gentile, an abstract expression of the animal spine: human, fish, all life forms are referenced here. Hand built in the artist's favorite rough clay body, bits of the hand-working shows through the glaze. It is made to stand or lie in various positions, each one changing the perspective on the sculpture. Whether you are interested in a bold conversation-piece, or a sculpture to offer unlimited contemplation, you have that here.

Helena Starcevic Ceramics
Helena Starcevic Ceramics produces work that straddles the line between fine and decorative art. Each piece is one of a kind, hand-built entirely by the artist in her New York studio. Taking inspiration from the natural world, Ms. Starcevic's work includes references to the stark beauty of the desert, prehistoric cave paintings, and the human form (within and without). Everything is filtered through Ms. Starcevic’s own singular aesthetic, at once quiet yet strong, meditative, and beautiful. Pieces are made in different clays and finishes, and at different scales. Groupings are available. Helena Starcevic’s ceramic pieces are held in private collections across the US and Europe. She has held numerous residencies including one at the Museum of Art and Design in New York City.
Clients can choose some variations in size and color. All in ceramic. Each are unique, one of a kind.
