About the Item
This bronze “leaning alphabet” sculpture is signed by the artist, who was known by his given name but also went by an assumed name; he called himself Sharbek Almajkov. We acquired this quirky piece from a former gallery owner in the Berkshires who knew Sharbek. He was purportedly from Eastern Europe, though little else is known of his work or his current whereabouts. As such, this charming little mystery is a piece of a puzzle. Bronze shows a beautiful green patinated finish. Signed and dated on underside of base as shown.
