About the Item
Contemporary stoneware sculpture by French artist Véra Rybaltchenko. The title is: ‘Roissy de bon matin -1’. (Roissy early in the morning). It is made of chamotte stoneware to which the artist has succeeded in giving an astonishing patina of which she has the secret, close to the concrete found at Roissy Charles de Gaulle airport in France. The stoneware was fired at 1100 degrees and is therefore very resistant. Her many trips to Northern Europe and Denmark, where she lived as a child, were the inspiration for this series of ceramic sculptures, created after long hours spent in the airport. Véra is first and foremost a sculptor, having worked in modeling for a long time before turning to mixed media and installations. For some years now, she has been working in ceramics, and is making rapid progress in this field, which she has now mastered perfectly. Véra has never really wanted to show her work, the important thing for her was to research, experiment and constantly produce. Now she has come to accept the idea of facing up to the market, exhibiting again and selling her work. She is both an established and experienced artist, but also one to be discovered, and one who is sure to blossom very soon. A good investment for collectors before prices rise!
