About the Item

Original artwork. Unique piece. There is another example in the book "The Sculpture of Picasso" shown in the pics here. Picasso hired an artist named Carl Nesjar to make sculptures in steel from his maquettes. Also as the book states here from "Portrait of Picasso" The Museum of Modern Art New York 1971. Nesjar made a few examples like the one shown in the book and this one. Unfortunately, this one does not have a provenance. It's handmade from cut and welded steel parts. Original vintage condition showing wear / patina. Presents well for collections and decor..
