About the Item

Object: Helicopter Manufacturer: Prada Italy, 2005/2006 A helicopter that never takes off – and that is precisely where its greatness lies. This exceptional object confidently inhabits the space between design, sculpture, and brand mythology. With playful seriousness, it translates the iconography of aviation into an almost ironic yet highly aesthetic form. Technical in appearance but deliberately reduced, the helicopter feels like a frozen thought: motion as an idea rather than a function. The proportions are intentionally exaggerated. The long, spring-mounted tail boom contrasts with the compact body, while the metal rotor and skids give the object a clear, industrial presence. Visible springs, screws, and areas of patina speak of time, touch, and use – not as flaws, but as integral parts of its story. This piece was most likely produced by Prada as a VIP gift or as a window display object. It therefore stands as an example of those rare items never intended for the market, and which, for that very reason, possess a special aura: ephemeral, exclusive, and self-assured. A collectible for connoisseurs of design, fashion history, and objects that operate at the threshold between object art and staging. Dimensions: Length approx. 52 cm Width approx. 44 cm Height approx. 25 cm Condition: Age- and use-related wear; metal elements partially patinated. Overall good, authentic condition with a characterful surface. An object with attitude. And with the quiet arrogance of a design that never needs to explain why it exists.
