Contemporary Large Post Modern Art Sculpture Vase "Dysfunctional" Stacked Dice Vase" Artist Michael Corney / signed Miguel Corney "Michael Corney grew up in the greater Los Angeles area, inspired by the vibrant colors of nature and diverse cultures around him. He earned his BA from Cal State University Fullerton and his MFA from Cranbrook Academy of Art. While he works as a studio potter, Michael has also taught workshops at Anderson Ranch, Penland School of Crafts, and Santa Fe Clay. His work is featured in permanent collections at several museums, including The Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco and Boise Museum of Art." "The main theme of my work is Chaos, reflecting my view of contemporary life filled with fast-paced, information overload and media frenzy. I often combine a lot of visual elements to create an abstract and sometimes confusing narrative. Each piece starts with a general theme, guiding the viewer without being too specific, allowing for varied interpretations. My inspiration comes from personal experiences, both good and bad, and even from stories I hear on the radio while I work. I use a bright color palette that contrasts with the darker themes in my imagery."
