About the Item
Nailed and hammered copper over carved wood, this beautiful sculpture is from Californian artist Melvin Albert Schuler. (1924-2012) Born in San Francisco and a long term professor at Humboldt State College, he was known for large abstract sculptures using old growth redwood covered in copper, affixed with bronze nails. This piece has 4 mounting holes at the base. It has 3 dents which could be replaced with copper. 91" H x 20" W. Base is 14" x 14"
