About the Item
This remarkable Mid-Century Brutalist abstract sculpture, crafted by American artist Marion N. circa 1966, is a stunning representation of organic forms brought to life through the medium of bronze. The sculpture, with its intricate and textured surface, captures the essence of the Brutalist movement by emphasizing rawness and structural honesty. With an abstract design that hints at natural phenomena, this piece invites contemplation and interpretation, drawing the viewer into its complex interplay of light and shadow. The sculpture is firmly set upon a sleek black marble base, providing a striking contrast to the warm, earthy tones of the bronze. This juxtaposition not only enhances the sculpture's visual impact but also speaks to the mid-century fascination with combining different materials to create balance and harmony. The base’s polished finish complements the ruggedness of the bronze, grounding the piece and offering a stable foundation that highlights its dynamic form. Signed by the artist, Marion N., this sculpture is a testament to individual creativity and the mid-century American art scene. It embodies the era's exploration of new forms and techniques, moving away from traditional art conventions to embrace a more expressive and freeform approach. The piece stands as both an aesthetic marvel and a conversation starter, making it a perfect addition to art collections and interior spaces seeking a bold and evocative statement. In Excellent Vintage Condition.
