A pair of sculptures by artist Oriano Galloni (1970). “Silent Souls” are made from white Carrara marble and wood with a marble base and are 78.5in tall. “Silent Souls,” the name Galloni has given these pieces, is derived from an episode in his life. His pieces display a masterful technical command and a tireless desire for experimentation, but, above all, they value artisanal work in a world that has bet on industrialization.

Oriano Galloni
Oriano Galloni was born in 1970 in Italy. He completed his dissertation on sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts in Carrara, Italy, in 1992. In 2015 his White Forest Project was hosted at the Grand Rapids Public Museum in Grand Rapids, Michigan. His work has also been exhibited at the Guggenheim Museum in New York as well as in galleries and art fairs throughout the world. His public works and commissions can be found in Ingolstadt, Germany; Villa Luna Park Suzzara in Mantova, Italy; and Villa Veronica Forte dei Marmi in Italy.
