We are delighted to offer for sale this pair of very rare original 1821 dated bronze Grand tour plaques framed and with the original paper label by John Henning after Raphael The first plaque has engraved at the bottom the following Henning E May 2 1821 after Raphael Peter Said, Silver Gold Have I None But Such As I Give I Thee In The Name Of Jesus Of Nazareth Rise Up Walk. Then He Took Him With The Right Hand Raised Him Up Acts II 56.7 The second says Paul Barnabas at Lystra Acts XIV They are a very old and collectable pair with the original frames and paper backing label which reads “R.W. CANDLER CARBER BILDER DECORATOR LOOKING GLASS PICTURE FRAME MANUFACTURER 4 SUSSEX TERRACE WESTBOURNE GROVE BAYSWATER W” These plaques would have been purchased in Italy and the above-mentioned frame makers would have made the frames and mounted them The condition is totally period, the frames are old and the paint worn as you would expect for something that’s nearly 200 years old Dimensions: Height:- 27cm Width:- 35.5cm Depth:- 2.25cm Please note all measurements are taken at the widest point This item is available for collection from our Wimbledon warehouses. Condition: Please view the very detailed pictures as they form part of the description around condition Please note vintage period and original items such as leather seating will always have natural patina in the form of cracking creasing and wear, we recommend regular waxing to ensure no moisture is lost, also hand dyed leather is not recommended to sit in direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time as it will dry out and fade.
